Travertine / Travertino / Pavers

Travertine, Travertino & Pavers

Although we are popularly known for our artificial turf installations, we also offer other services such as stone installation. This allows for a great design and more elegant look for your yard. The three most common stones requested are pavers, travertine and travertino. We install all three stones, and each one has the right purpose. Let’s break down the differences of all three stones. This will help you make a decision that is right for your project.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us HERE.

What is Travertine?

Travertine is a natural type of stone, like the granite in your kitchen or the marble in your bathroom. Travertine is a sedimentary stone type of limestone made from mineral deposits from natural springs. This gives the travertine a distinctive and striking appearance, seen in its unique swirls.
Travertine is a type of limestone, although the names of the two stones should not be used interchangeably, as some differences exist. It typically forms in hot springs. It forms by the precipitation of calcium carbonate.  Commonly, it is used in outdoor areas. If you are looking for a stone that looks nice on your patio, you should strongly consider going with this stone. This is a great stone for walkways as well, and it is often used for this purpose. Furthermore, Arizona’s Greenest Grass can install a walkway to create a beautiful look.

What is Travertino?

Travertino is a cementitious interior/exterior finish. It is created with proprietary technology, integrating complex color blends, and natural textures to mimic travertine. It is manufactured with integral color and a mixture of various size aggregates designed to achieve a variety of sedimentary stone appearances, such as travertine, limestone, and sandstone. Travertino can create a pitted look like that of classic Tuscan stone or can be troweled/ground to achieve a smooth stone appearance. Travertino an excellent choice to create a beautiful, warm sedimentary stone appearance with a lower cost, lower weight, and shorter lead time than real stone. Check us out in City Lifestyle of Phoenix HERE.

What are Pavers?

A paver is a stone made of concrete, natural stone, clay brick or even porcelain. Typically, they are small pieces that vary in size. Homeowners have a choice of various colors, textures, and patterns. Some of the best characteristics include:

  • They are durable and long-lasting
  • Pavers adapt to climate variations and seasonal changes
  • Low maintenance

When properly installed, they create a strong and flexible interlocking pavement system. They are not prone to breaking or cracking and are three to four times stronger than the concrete foundation of a home!
