“PFAS” is short for per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances. This class of more than 12,000 chemicals is found in products like food packaging and carpets to repel water, grease, and stains. They’re also in firefighting foam used on military bases and commercial airports. Even personal care products like waterproof mascaras, eyeliners, sunscreen, shampoo, and shaving cream can contain PFAS.

PFAS don’t easily break down and can persist in your body and the environment for decades. Today, more than 97% of the U.S. population has PFAS in their bodies, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). You can learn more about PFAS HERE.

Certified Lead Free

Test Method:
ASTM F2765-09: Standard Specification for Total Lead Content in Synthetic Turf Fibers
Scope of Test:
A section of the synthetic fiber was selected for testing and prepared as outlined in EPA Method 3052, with a temperature modification adjusted to 210oC. The fiber was then analyzed for lead using ICP spectroscopy or AAS spectrometry per ASTM E1613.
Acceptance Level:
The total lead content measured shall be <300 mg/kg (ppm) was outlined in CPSC Improvement Act 2008 Statutory Lead Limit.
Test Results:
The above synthetic turf fibers are in compliance with CPSC lead content guidelines.

Yarn Identification Lead/ASTM F2765 @ 210°C
Monofilament Yarn Less than 0.25 mg/Kg
Thatch Yarn Less than 0.25 mg/Kg

With over 25 years of experience in Arizona, we’ll find a solution that is high quality and high performance, and most importantly SAFE!

We Are RoHS Compliant

All of our artificial grass products are RoHS compliant. Our turf is certified non-toxic and lead-free to ensure the safety of humans and pets alike. RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances, and impacts the entire electronics industry and many electrical products as well. The original RoHS, also known as Directive 2002/95/EC, originated in the European Union in 2002 and restricts the use of six hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products. All applicable products in the EU market since July 1, 2006 must pass RoHS compliance.

Directive 2011/65/EU was published in 2011 by the EU, which is known as RoHS-Recast or RoHS 2. RoHS 2 includes a CE-marking directive, with RoHS compliance now being required for CE marking of products. RoHS 2 also added Categories 8 and 9, and has additional compliance recordkeeping requirements. Directive 2015/863 is known as RoHS 3. RoHS 3 adds four additional restricted substances (phthalates) to the list of six. Learn More About RoHS HERE.

 EU RoHS Maximum Levels

EU RoHS specifies maximum levels for the following 10 restricted substances. The first six applied to the original RoHS while the last four were added under RoHS 3, which took effect July 22, 2019.

  • Cadmium (Cd): < 100 ppm
  • Lead (Pb): < 1000 ppm
  • Mercury (Hg): < 1000 ppm
  • Hexavalent Chromium: (Cr VI) < 1000 ppm
  • Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB): < 1000 ppm
  • Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE): < 1000 ppm
  • Bis(2-Ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP): < 1000 ppm
  • Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP): < 1000 ppm
  • Dibutyl phthalate (DBP): < 1000 ppm
  • Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP): < 1000 ppm
